Musketeer Monday Part Two: Mary Hardy
For this week's Musketeer Monday, the Central Islip School District is proud to spotlight Mrs. Mary Hardy! A dedicated employee of the district since 1998, when she was first assigned as a Teacher Aide, Mrs. Hardy continues to set a standard of excellence in all facets of her job. Today, she serves as the District Machine Room Operator.
In 2017, Mrs. Hardy was elected to the CSEA Executive Board as a Shop Steward, and she later won election as CSEA's Executive Vice President, a position she proudly continues to hold.
When asked about the most rewarding part of her job, Mrs. Hardy explained: "The one thing I always turn to is giving back to my community and being able to help a child or a co-worker. Helping others is what's important and rewarding to me, and I enjoy working alongside dedicated people who support the children of Central Islip. As a lifelong resident, Central Islip will always be a part of who I am."
In her free time, Mrs. Hardy enjoys traveling, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with her family and friends.
O'Neill Elementary School Principal Mrs. Kristine LoCascio perhaps best sums up the very essence of Mary Hardy in her testimonial: "Mary Hardy is a lifelong Central Islip resident who began her career in the Central Islip Union Free School District in 1998. Most recently, she has taken on the responsibilities of District Machine Room Operator at O'Neill Elementary School.
Mary continues to strive for excellence in all facets of her duties and responsibilities, consistently delivering high-quality work and showcasing her dedication to students and staff alike. She is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everyone has what they need, truly earning her name 'Mother Mary.' Whether providing for students, supporting staff with a smile, chocolates, or just a welcoming 'hello,' Mary truly is the heart and soul of CI."
